Syntax
Below be th' characters that ye can insert int' th' front o' th' line, or surroundin' words an' phrases, t' format yer charts, matey.
Bold
This can be accomplished by appendin' th' line or addin' an asterisk t' th' inline selection.
This <*word is bold> and this isn't.
*Or we can make th' whole line bold.
Italic
This can be accomplished with a forward slash character like th' followin':
/This whole line will be italic.
Or just th' word </italic> will be.
Emphasized
Ye can bold an' italicize text with a single exclamation point like this, savvy?:
!This line will be bold and italic.
Or <!just this phrase> will be.
Underline†
Ye can underline text usin' th' underscore character like so:
_Underline th' entire line o' text...
Or just th' <_thing ye want> t'.
Backslant†
This be similar t' italics but in th' opposite direction, Arrr!. Ye can do this usin' a backslash:
\This line will be backslanted.
Or make it only on <\certain words>.
Text Color
Ye can use an ampersand t' make th' text a color either with a named color, or usin' HTML color codes. For instance:
&red:This line contains red text.
This <&C6B3:word is a custom color> that's like teal.
Highlight Color
Ye can also highlight text usin' a similar syntax with th' greater than sign, matey.
>yellow:This line will be highlighted in yellow
Or I'll have a <>#0000FF33:very light blue Christmas> without ye by specifyin' opacity as th' last hexadecimal value.
Font Family†
Ye can change th' font used by namin' it:
$Courier:This line will be in Courier font.
Font Size†
Ye can also change th' size o' text. Use a number that be greater or equal t' 6 as th' size in terms o' points. Ye can also use a number less than 6 t' indicate a multiple o' th' base font size. For instance, "2" would be 200% th' size o' th' base font.
NEW2:This line is 200% th' size o' th' other lines.
Make <NEW42:forty-two points> in size.
Links†
Ye can type in a web address or URL int' th' chart an' OnSong will automatically detect it an' format it as a link, Blimey!. Links be displayed underlined in th' app color an' will open within th' app in a Safari view or as a video player. Ye can also add a label t' use in place o' th' URL by followin' th' link with th' text in parenthesis:
