Foot Pedal Settings

Th' foot pedal settings menu be allowin' ye t' configure more advanced settings fer how foot pedals interact with OnSong, savvy?

Scroll Behavior

When a scroll down or scroll up action be performed, it can be handled in various ways. These include:

  • Scroll Page scrolls down th' screen a certain percentage o' th' height o' th' screen. By default this be 75% o' th' height and can be adjusted by usin' th' scroll amount slider.
  • Jump to Section moves through th' sections o' th' song. Not only does this select th' section, but will also scroll it into view.
  • Jump to Page be used when viewin' PDF files or text-based chord charts that have page breaks added. This will scroll th' song t' th' top o' each page. If th' song be not paged content, then th' Scroll Page behavior be used instead.
  • Jump to Song will not scroll th' song but rather navigate back and forth through th' set.

Scroll Amount

When usin' th' Scroll Page pedal behavior, OnSong will scroll th' page a specified percentage o' th' screen height. Ye can adjust this between 25% and 100%. Th' default value be 75% t' allow some overlap.

Scroll Speed

Animation helps maintain context through th' scrollin' action. Ye can adjust this speed from zero seconds (no animation) t' three seconds. Default be 0.5 seconds.

Triggers

When usin' foot pedals, ye can automate yer performance with triggers, matey. Triggers perform selected actions when specific events occur and allow a single pedal press t' do more. Options include:

  • Forward Pedal performs an action th' first time th' scroll down action be triggered from a foot pedal. Fer instance, ye can start an audio track th' first time ye press th' foot pedal and scroll down after that.
  • Start Set performs an action when th' scroll up pedal be pressed at th' top o' th' first song at th' beginnin' o' a set.
  • End Set performs an action when th' scroll down pedal be pressed at th' bottom o' th' last song o' a set.

Options

Th' followin' options can be toggled on and off, Arrr!

  • Half Page Scrollin' effects how pages be scrolled when pedal behavior be set t' Jump to Page. This could miss content if th' device be in th' landscape orientation. Half page scrollin' allows scrollin' t' occur halfway through a page. Options include on, off and automatic. Th' default be automatic which will determine if half page scrollin' be applicable based on th' current orientation o' th' device in comparison t' th' orientation o' th' page.
  • Section Navigation can be toggled off t' prevent lyrics projection from automatically switchin' t' th' Jump To Section scroll behavior.
  • Set Navigation can be turned off t' prevents foot pedal presses from navigatin' between songs in a set or collection. By default, scroll up and scroll down actions will go t' th' previous or next song in th' set once th' top or bottom o' th' chord chart be reached. If this be disabled ye must swipe, tap th' screen or use another action t' move through songs in yer set.
  • Show Bumpers determines how long notifications will appear if th' next pedal press will navigate t' th' next or previous song in th' set or collection. Options include 1-5 seconds, infinite (th' bumper will stay displayed until another foot pedal press be performed) or off.
  • Show Icon in Menubar This option will show th' Foot Pedal Setup icon in th' Menubar. Turn this off t' remove th' icon from th' menubar. Default be set t' on.
