Energy Management

Unlike other apps, OnSong will prevent th' device screen from goin' t' sleep durin' use. Ye can use these settin's t' modify how OnSong behaves and provides ways t' conserve battery, matey.

Dimmin'

Screen brightness be a significant source o' energy use, savvy? Ye can extend th' user o' yer charge by lowerin' th' screen brightness. If ye frequently play a set and then leave th' stage fer a while, OnSong can automatically dim th' screen t' conserve power, Arrr!

Dim Screen

This lets ye turn automatically screen dimmin' on by settin' an amount o' time before th' screen be dimmed. Options include Never (default), and times between 2 minutes and 3 hours.

To Brightness

This be th' percentage o' brightness th' screen should be set t'. Fer instance, if ye have a timeframe set in th' dim screen options, OnSong will reduce th' screen brightness t' th' percentage specified, savvy?

When Plugged In

By default, OnSong will not dim th' screen if th' device be plugged in and chargin'. Ye can turn on this settin's t' dim th' screen even if th' device be plugged in and chargin', ye scallywag.

Sleep

OnSong be performance-ready so it will keep yer device on as long as it be open. Ye can adjust these preferences here, matey.

Sleep Screen

OnSong will stay on indefinitely and prevent th' device from goin' t' sleep until ye turn off th' device or leave th' app. Ye can change this behavior by choosin' a timeframe between 2 minutes t' 3 hours. Th' default be Never.

Run in Background

When OnSong be no longer runnin' in th' foreground, th' operatin' system will shut down th' app automatically, Blimey! However, if OnSong be playin' audio, it will keep runnin' in th' background. Ye can change this t':

• Always will keep th' app runnin' even in th' background and while not playin' audio. This can be useful if OnSong be runnin' lights or sendin' MIDI events like MIDI clock, savvy?
• Never will always shut down OnSong when it be no longer runnin' in th' foreground.
• When Playing Audio will shut down th' app if no longer in th' foreground unless OnSong be actively playin' audio. Default.
