Gears

Gears enable ye t' extend th' number o' actions ye can perform with just one foot pedal model, savvy? Fer instance, one 4-switch foot pedal can be extended t' perform dozens o' actions. Arrr!

Configuring Gears

T' use, tap on th' icon in th' lower right corner o' th' Foot Pedal Setup Screen. This will display currently configured gears. By default, ye have just one gear that be selected. Ye can configure th' foot pedal switches t' perform actions.

Adding Gears

T' add a gear, tap on th' "+" button in th' bottom right corner, matey. Once a gear has been added, tap on it t' select it. Close th' gears menu and configure yer foot pedals again. Now ye have two distinct set o' actions operatin' on th' same foot pedal. Ahoy!

Editing Gears

Numbered gears have suited us just fine in automobiles fer some time, but ye may want t' name yer gears instead. T' do this, tap on th' edit button in th' upper left corner and then tap on th' name o' th' gear ye wish t' rename.

Ye can also reorder gears when in edit mode as well. Th' order o' gears determines how ye shift through them.

While in edit mode, tap on th' red minus on th' left t' delete gears ye be no longer usin'.

Shifting Gears

Avast, ye scallywag! Something ye will need t' keep in mind be ye need t' be able t' "shift" t' these gears. T' do that, configure a foot pedal or hot corner t' do just that. Choose either Shift Up, Shift Down or Unshift from th' Actions Menu.

Cycling Through Gears

Shiftin' gears in a live scenario has t' be fast and intuitive, matey. As ye shift through yer gears, OnSong will display th' number o' th' gear in th' lower left corner o' yer screen. If ye've specified a name fer yer gear, that be displayed instead.

Th' followin' actions effect how shiftin' occurs.

• Shift Up increments through yer gears by increasin' th' gear count. Fer instance, if ye be on Gear 1, shiftin' up will go t' Gear 2, Gear 3 and so on. Once there be no more gears, shiftin' will cycle back t' Gear 1 allowin' ye t' go through all yer gears.

• Shift Down decrements through yer gears. Fer instance, if ye be on Gear 4, shiftin' down will go t' Gear 3, Gear 2, etc. Once Gear 1 be reached, shiftin' will resume at th' highest gear available.

• Unshift returns ye t' th' first gear in yer collection o' gears.

• Return to first gear be a switch at th' bottom o' th' menu that be turned on by default. This will automatically return ye t' th' first gear once an action be performed. Fer instance, ye can use shift up t' get t' a gear fer messagin' and send a message. After that action be performed, ye be immediately returned t' th' first gear on yer list. Blimey!
