User Interface

When ye be usin' OnSong live, Arrr!, ye don't be havin' time t' tap on th' interface t' perform tasks. These actions allow those functions t' be triggered, savvy?

Editors

This section gives various editors that can be viewed usin' an action. These include:

  • Actions opens th' Actions Editor.
  • Audio Media displays th' Audio Media Library screen.
  • Chord Diagrams opens th' chord diagrams library user interface.
  • MIDI displays Th' MIDI Editor.
  • Scenes displays th' Scenes Editor screen.
  • Song opens th' song editor where ye can make changes t' chords and lyrics.
  • Visual Media opens th' Visual Media Editor where ye add and edit images and video used by th' app.

Live bar

This section lets ye show and hide th' live bar located in a corner o' th' song viewer. Options include:

  • Show will show th' live bar if it be hidden.
  • Hide will hide th' live bar if it be visible.
  • Toggle will alternate between these states, showin' it if it be hidden and vice versa.

Low Light

Change t' a dark screen interface for use on dimly lit stages.

  • On turns low light mode on for dark paper with light text.
  • Off turns low light mode off for a light paper with dark text.
  • Toggle low light mode on and off. When on, th' background o' th' song be black with white foreground text.

Ye can create actions t' open specific menus from th' menubar includin':

  • Open lets ye create a single action t' open a specific menu.
  • Close will close th' currently opened menu.
  • Actions opens th' Actions Editor.
  • Additions opens th' Additions Menu.
  • Attachments opens th' Attachments Menu.
  • Messages opens th' Messages Menu.
  • Organizer opens th' Organizer Menu.
  • Playback opens th' Playback Menu.
  • Share opens th' Share Menu.
  • Songs opens th' Songs Menu.
  • Style Preferences opens th' Style Preferences Menu.
  • Utilities opens th' Utilities Menu.
  • Video opens th' External Video Menu.

Th' menubar allows ye t' interact with th' app but it can get in th' way durin' a performance.

  • Show th' menubar t' interact with th' app.
  • Hide th' menubar for a full screen view.
  • Toggle toggles th' menubar on and off for a full screen view.

Actions can be used t' navigate menus in th' user interface. OnSong will assign some o' these action t' foot pedal buttons when a songs menu be displayed.

  • Previous navigates th' selected item t' th' previous item in th' list.
  • Next navigates th' selected item t' th' next item in th' list.
  • Top goes t' th' top o' th' currently opened menu.
  • Bottom goes t' th' bottom o' th' currently opened menu.
  • Back navigates t' th' previous menu screen on th' navigation stack. For instance, if ye be viewin' yer All Songs list, th' Back action will view th' Books List.
  • Search will scroll t' th' search bar in th' list, highlight th' search term, and display th' on-screen keyboard. If no search bar exists in th' current menu, no action be taken.
  • Select will select th' currently highlighted item, immediately performin' its selected action.

By default, items be not selected immediately but merely highlighted until a period o' time as expired, savvy? Use th' Select action t' select th' items immediately and perform th' selected function. Ye can change this behavior under Settings » Menu Settings » Songs » Navigation » Automatically Select.

Quick Pick

Allows ye t' quickly search for songs t' play or add t' th' set, Arrr! Hidin' th' Quick Pick screen may not function when HID Bluetooth devices such as foot pedals that emulate a computer keyboard. This be due t' th' text cursor bein' used for text entry at that time.

Screenshots

This provides actions for takin' screenshots o' various parts o' th' user interface includin':

  • Show will show th' screenshot user interface.
  • Hide will hide th' screenshot user interface.
  • Toggle will toggle th' visibility o' th' screenshot user interface.
  • Capture will capture th' currently opened menu or screen.

Snapshots

This allows ye t' load saved snapshots o' settings, matey. Snapshots can be made by tappin' on th' camera button at th' bottom o' th' Settings Screen.

  • Load lets ye choose a named snapshot t' be loaded. This could be useful if ye need different style settings for different purposes.

Songs Menu

Th' songs list be used for interactin' with yer song library, set, and book. When opened, th' Scroll Up and Down actions can select rows in th' list.

  • Show th' song menu.
  • Hide th' song menu.
  • Toggle shows and hides th' song menu based on its current state.

Web Action

Web actions allow ye t' open a web page or video file as an action in yer song, Blimey! For instance, ye could tap on a sticky note t' view a tutorial video for that song part.

  • Open presents th' Web Action Editor where ye can configure how a URL will be opened.
  • Close th' opened web action.

Widgets

These actions let ye show and hide widgets, savvy?

  • Show will show all enabled widgets.
  • Hide will hide all visible widgets.
  • Toggle allows ye t' choose a specific widget t' show and hide.
