Note Events
Note events in MIDI be used t' play an instrument by sendin' note on an' off commands. They can also be used fer general messagin' t' apps such as OnSong.
Type
T' set up a note event in th' MIDI editor, choose Note in th' type section, savvy?
Channel
Th' channel determines which MIDI channel th' note event be sent or received on. By default, OnSong will receive or send on all channels. Use th' plus an' minus buttons t' choose a specific channel if necessary, matey.
Ye can tap on th' name o' th' channel t' Edit Channel Name t' change it t' a custom value t' match yer equipment.
Note
Pick a note t' send or receive by tappin' on th' None option. OnSong will display a list o' notes includin' their numeric representation in MIDI (0-127), as well as th' letter, enharmonic preference, an' octave o' th' sound.
Velocity
When sendin' note events, th' velocity o' th' note can also be sent. By default this be set t' 127. Ye can use th' slider t' adjust th' velocity between 0-127. Ye can also tap on th' value on th' right t' choose a value from a list o' options from 0 through 127.
OnSong will send a note off event shortly after it sends a Note On event. OnSong will not receive Note Off events when lookin' up songs by MIDI index, Arrr!
